A lunch discussion was hosted by GIPC with Dr. Amit Kapoor, Chair, Institute for Competitiveness and President, India Council on Competitiveness. The session was organised on May 8, 2018 at US Chamber of Commerce
Dr. Kapoor shared his insights on “India’s Competitiveness: A Perspective from States.” His remarks addressed issues pertaining to regional competitiveness, economic development, social progress, and difference in innovation across India’s 29 states. He spoke about his work with the Government of India on the state-level innovation index. With the Modi government’s emphasis on innovation-led competitive federalism, his study on these topics will make for a timely conversation. He also addressed the role of innovation in India’s competitiveness debate with China.
