Themes

  1. Policy Planning: In advanced economies, where the benefits from the creative industries have been successfully harnessed, a dedicated policy framework for the creative economy forms a common thread. Against this backdrop, we will discuss ways for government to reflect the potential of the creative economy to ensure that it forms a key part of overall policy planning objectives relating to the Indian economy.

  1. Improving Institutional Frameworks: Given that the creative economy spans several regulatory and policy frameworks, it is important to understand the interactions between relevant authorities, and to identify overlaps and gaps. In this context we will seek your inputs on global best practices that offer appropriate templates for India to adopt, particularly in the context of convergence of technologies.

  1. Long-term Vision: The creative economy can influence India’s ability to increase its presence across the international community. Exemplarily, employment and value generation initiatives like local content promotion and growth of content markets, are regularly promoted by advanced jurisdictions. Therefore, we seek your inputs on ways for government to effectively leverage the growing size and scope of the Indian creative economy internationally.
